Even before the whole healthcare reform ordeal, there were plenty of other “crises of the day” to worry about over the past 20 years I’ve been in private practice.

When I completed my graduate training, I didn’t know how I would ever pay my bills and get out of the financial pressure cooker I felt I was in every day. And as a single Mom with a young son, there weren’t a lot of options.

1. Go to work for an agency for $17,000 a year, after having incurred $85,000 worth of student loan debt
2. “Try my luck” and start a private practice, having almost no idea what I was doing aside from what I had just learned in grad school.
Neither one seemed great at the time, but it was clear to me only one of those options had any potential for a “Real Future”.
I’m guessing that at one time you were also faced with 2 similar options, and you chose the latter. That’s why you’re here.
…And I – just like you – also chose Option 2 (or you wouldn’t be reading this page right now). I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made.
