I talk a lot about getting beyond “Dollars For Hours” — finding ways to get paid for more than just the time you are actually face to face with clients.
Here are a couple of ways to increase your exposure (the WORLD will be your oyster), increase your ability to help others (by providing products for those who may not have access to face-to-face counseling), and diversify/increase your revenue (by selling one item to lots of people, or by addressing lots of folks at one time)…
Teleseminars are seminars that you record and make available for people to listen or download to listen in the future. These are audio recordings of: general information, specific and specialized content, techniques, products, skills, etc. Teleseminars are especially popular when they can be downloaded to an MP3 player or computer so people can listen when they have time.
Webinars are similar to teleseminars, but they include video. You can record a workshop, training, or the same types of things you might put into a teleseminar so folks can watch and listen to your work. You can use a video camera that will upload directly into your computer in MP4 format (i.e. with a Flip Video Recorder), and you can use programs like Camtasia or Screen Flow when you want to edit your videos to put on YouTube, on your website, or other sites on the web
These types of products really do encourage your creativity and give you a way to really show the world just how unique you are.
Don’t do once, what you can be paid for time and time again. Record your work and make it available for mass consumption whenever possible.
