I love these weeks between Thanksgiving and New Years. Football… parties… great food! Every year, I take this time to reflect on buttoning up this year and gearing up for next year.
How about you?
This time of year can be very productive, or… it can be an easy way to kick back and say “We’ll get ’em next year!”
What will you do with this time?
Now, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t take the time to enjoy the holidays and make some great memories with your family and friends. What I am saying, is that if you really want what you say you want, this is also a time when you may need to kick it up a notch.
Don’t fall asleep in the Red Zone
You’re on the 10 yard line. Now is the time to figure out if what you’ve already done has brought you to where you planned to be at the end of 2012. If not, you still have time — for a field goal, or even a TOUCHDOWN!
You don’t want to have to punt at this point in the game!
Make the time (DVR your favorite shows, listen to your book on audio while you are at the gym) to assess how you’re doing with your 2012 goals. Finish up those you can, and start planting the seeds for 2013.
If you are really honest with yourself you may find the need to re-evaluate and update those goals. Your other option is to figure out what help you need; what it will take to keep that ball moving toward your goal.
I’ll bet you challenge your clients all the time on what they say as compared to what they do.
